Cheese board for 1 August brunch

This is how it works:

What could be more Swiss than celebrating Switzerland’s National Day with Emmentaler AOP? Our cheese board celebrates the idyllic Alpine summer: cows and goats made from Emmentaler AOP and an Alpine mountain range made from crispy baguette. With our cheese board, we’re honouring Switzerland, its traditions and its culinary heritage – whether at home or at a classic 1 August brunch.

Take two crispy baguettes and cut off three end pieces of different lengths. Place them next to each other on a wooden plate. Put a few sprigs of rosemary to symbolise fragrant mountain spruces on the left and right of your Alpine mountain range.

Now it’s time to bring the animals onto the Alp! Cut cows and goats out of a flat piece of Emmentaler AOP Classic – using a sharp knife or cookie cutters. Put the animals in front of your mountain backdrop and you’re ready for an Alpine ascent in style.

Decorate the Alpine landscape with flowers made from carrots, peppers and radishes. And, of course, you’ve got to have a couple of Swiss flags made of paper and toothpicks! This will turn your 1 August brunch into a culinary excursion to the Alps – dishes don’t get much more Swiss than this.
