Did you know that Santa Claus goes mad for cheese? His festive cheese board boasts not only nuts and mandarins, but also Emmentaler AOP, tasty salami and a bushy beard made from radishes. And best of all, you can enjoy these snacks without needing to recite a poem first.
Take a round wooden board and a flat piece of Emmentaler AOP. Cut the cheese into small squares and place them in the middle of the board in a mosaic pattern – this will become Santa’s face. Two long pieces of cheese make a good moustache, while a halved cherry tomato serves as his nose and two dollops of mayonnaise, each with a peppercorn on top, as his eyes. Radishes can be used to create Santa’s eyebrows and hairline – and before you know it, a friendly face will be looking back at you.
For the pointed red hat, place a triangle made of thin slices of salami atop Santa’s head. His white beard comes courtesy of thinly sliced radishes, and because it’s cold outside, Santa has red cheeks – thanks to two dried cranberries.
Finally, place crackers, nuts, mandarin segments, dried apricots and cherry tomatoes around the face and decorate it with fresh watercress. Santa is ready to eat – what a successful start to Advent!
